A fall harvest festival and outdoor movie night is slated to take place at Sunrise Mall in mid-October, featuring kids’ activities, food trucks, and the movie Hotel Transylvania.
Sunrise MarketPlace will host the free event from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday evening, Oct. 16. The festival will take near the former Sears building at Sunrise Mall, located at 5900 Sunrise Mall, just off Macy Plaza Drive.
The family-friendly evening will include Halloween-themed kids activities, such as face painting, pumpkin decorating, a trunk-or-treat, a dog costume contest, and magic shows and games.
Local food trucks will also be available during the event, along with a concession stand operated by Citrus Heights HART.
As the evening continues, attendees can settle in with blankets and chairs for an outdoor showing of the first Hotel Transylvania installment, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Organizers encourage attendees to come dressed in Halloween costumes. Costumed dogs are also welcome to participate in the dog costume contest.
The event is free and open to the community. Limited hay-bale seating will be available, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets.
