Very early Sunday morning, Citrus Heights Police issued a public plea for help in finding a missing teenage girl who was reported to have developmental delays.
In a 4 a.m. post to their social media account, the police department requested the public’s assistance in locating Avery Brundtland, who was last seen between 10:45 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Saturday night, April 25, at her home in the 7300 block of Huntington Square Lane.
The social media post and the girl’s photo were shared over 250 times from the police department’s social media account, with multiple shares across local city Facebook groups and pages.
By 9:53 a.m., Brundtland was said to have been found safe, authorities said on social media. Police thanked the community for all its help.
According to police, Brundtland was reported to function socially at the level of a 9 to 10-year-old, which increased the concern for her safety.
