Police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon incident involving reports of a physical altercation between a large group of juveniles over a scooter.
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Carriage Drive just after 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a fight involving 15 juveniles.
By the time police arrived, many of the minors had left the scene. After investigation, police determined that the incident reportedly began as a dispute over a scooter, which escalated into a physical confrontation.
Authorities said the scooter was taken during the altercation but has since been recovered by law enforcement. No weapons were involved in the incident, and injuries reported were minor.
Police were unable to confirm whether the individuals involved are middle school or high school students. A person of interest has been identified, and the case remains under active investigation, police said Thursday.
