The Citrus Heights City Council is expected on Wednesday to receive several presentations recognizing local businesses and community initiatives, consider annual assessment district updates, review workforce recruitment and retention efforts, and hear a mid-cycle budget review and financial forecast update. The City Council will meet Wednesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at Citrus Heights City Hall.
Closed Session: Prior to the regular meeting, the City Council is scheduled to meet in closed session to discuss labor negotiations with the Citrus Heights Police Officers Association, Citrus Heights Police
Employees Association, and other unrepresented employees.
Presentations: The Citrus Heights City Council plans to issue proclamations and receive presentations recognizing community contributions and city initiatives, including a proclamation recognizing the “America the Entrepreneurial” campaign and a proclamation recognizing Trust Barbershop as the 2026 Business of Distinction Pride of Place Award recipient.
The Council will also hear a presentation from SMUD regarding its tree maintenance program and receive a presentation from the Economic Development and Community Engagement Department on the results of the city’s Youth Engagement Survey.
Consent Calendar: As part of the consent calendar, the City Council is slated to consider several items related to annual assessment district updates, infrastructure maintenance, stormwater management, and revenue services.
These include: initiating proceedings and approving resolutions related to annual updates for Landscape Maintenance Assessment Districts 97-01, zones 1-4, as well as the Lighting Assessment Districts 98-01, 98-02 (Zones 1-4) and 03-01 (Zones 1-3)
The Council will also consider authorizing expenditures associated with the Sacramento Stormwater Quality Partnership program and approving a master services agreement with Hinderliter de Llamas and Associates for sales and use tax analytics and related revenue services.
Items in the consent calendar are voted on as a block unless a councilmember pulls a specific item to vote on separately.
Public Hearing: The City Council is expected to receive and file a presentation regarding the city’s compliance with Assembly Bill 2561 related to vacancies, recruitment, and retention efforts. The agenda item is listed as a public hearing.
Mid-cycle Budget Review: The City Council is slated to hear and consider a mid-cycle review of the 2025-26 and 2026-27 budgets, receive an updated financial forecast, and establish the city’s appropriations limit for Fiscal Year 2026-27. The Council is also expected to consider budget amendments as part of the review process.
Those wishing to make a public comment during the meeting can do so by attending the council meeting on June 24, 2026, at City Hall, or by submitting a written comment beforehand using the city’s website.
Written comments are no longer being read out loud following amendments to the City Council’s handbook, but will be included in City Council agenda packets. The deadline to submit comments online is 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
