A new gathering spot for food lovers in Citrus Heights has grown from two trucks to 10, and is preparing to celebrate its official grand opening this coming Saturday.
Though the plaza has been open for a little over a month, the Citrus Heights Food Truck Plaza’s official grand opening is scheduled for Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at 7509 Twin Oaks Ave. in Citrus Heights. There is no admission fee, and parking is also free, though may be limited.
According to promotional flyers for the event, visitors can expect food, music, family-friendly activities and other entertainment throughout the celebration.
The diverse food vendors lineup includes Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean and Asian-inspired cuisine, as well as pizza, specialty drinks, desserts, coffee and sweet treats.
The food plaza currently features 10 vendors, including, Monarcas Birrieria y Botanas, Bingsu Bliss, Bacon Mania, 5River Pizza & Tandoori Grill, which was one of the first vendors; Sweets Drinks & Treats, Tipsy Cheese, Hefty Gyros, Kado’s Asian Grill, Bubble Hive and Luna Cafe which they say is open in the morning hours.
The plaza has also added multiple picnic tables, patio tables, and a covered patio set with couch and coffee table for people to wait or hang out with friends, along with portable misters for hot days.
Hours for the plaza are currently 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Organizers say the grand opening event will offer a family-friendly atmosphere where residents can sample offerings from multiple vendors in one location while enjoying live music and festivities.
