Citrus Heights seeks applicants for one Planning Commission vacancy

Sentinel staff report–
Have you ever wanted to serve at the City of Citrus Heights?

Citrus Heights residents interested in having a direct role in shaping the future of the city can now apply for a vacant seat on the Citrus Heights Planning Commission.

The city is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Commission, with the appointed commissioner serving a term through December 2028. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Planning Commissioners are responsible for making land-use decisions consistent with policies and plans formally adopted by the City Council. Commissioners review information provided through city staff reports, environmental impact reports and consultant reports when considering projects and other land-use matters.

The commission may also review proposed city ordinances, the city’s annual Capital Improvement Plan and other issues related to consistency with the city’s General Plan.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and residents of Citrus Heights.

Planning Commission meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.

Residents interested in applying can complete an online application through the city’s website or obtain a paper application at Citrus Heights City Hall, located at 6360 Fountain Square Drive.

Completed applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office. Applications will then be distributed to the City Council, which will confer and vote on an appointment at a future City Council meeting.

More information about the vacancy and application process is available through the city’s website. Residents with questions can also contact the City Clerk’s Office at 916-725-2448 or [email protected].
