2016 Events: food, fun & music coming to Rusch Park

From camping, pet contests and a scooter competition, to food, fun, and music, Rusch Park has it planned for this year. Here’s some highlights of events on schedule:

2016 events at Rusch Park:

Summer Food Truck Mania – Beginning April 13, food trucks will be out at Rusch Park on the second Wednesday of each month. The monthly event is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 14

Pet-a-Palooza 2016 – Dogs of all kinds and sizes will again fill Rusch Park this April 23 for Petapalooza 2016. The annual event attracts thousands of people and pets to the park each year for pet competitions and activities. (See prior year’s story)

Skate Park Scooter Competition 2016 – May 7, at Rusch Park Skate Park. (More details coming soon)

Community Camp Out 2016 – July 23 and 24, in Rusch Park. The overnight event takes over a section of Rusch Park each year with camping tents and typically features a variety of outdoor activities, along with a meal served up by city council members. (See last year’s story for more)

Hot August Bites 2016 — Aug. 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The annual event features classic cars, food trucks, entertainment, live music, raffles, swimming and more. (Vendor application and info)

Sunday Funday 2016 — Sept. 25 at Rusch Park, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The annual event features a host of free activities, with live music and entertainment, children’s games, climbing walls and more.

Arts & Crafts Fair — Nov. 12, 10 a.m to 3 p.m.  The annual crafts fair is held at Rusch Park Community Center, featuring numerous vendors with seasonal handmade crafts and gifts.
