Seafood lovers in Citrus Heights will soon have a new option for dining in town — with affordable menu prices that might surprise you.
California Fish Grill is planning to open its 25th location in Citrus Heights during the first quarter of 2019, in the Capital Nursery shopping center at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Madison Avenue. The Southern California-based restaurant chain specializes in offering a wide variety of “responsibly sourced” seafood, with full meals available under $10.
Restaurant spokeswoman Nikki Casas told The Sentinel the Citrus Heights location will be the fourth in Northern California, joining the restaurant’s Arden Way location that opened last month. The Arden location features sit-down seating with orders taken at the counter, a self-serve salsa bar along with fresh cilantro, and a large menu of seafood and veggie options.
Meals range from $8.50 for a popular combo meal of seafood tacos with a drink and rice and beans on the side, to $13.99 for a grilled dish of giant shrimp and two sides. The Arden location has already earned an average of 4.5-out-of-five stars from more than 60 reviewers on Yelp, with popular picks including a Salmon and Swai combo, Cajun Catfish, New England Clam Chowder, kaleslaw, and a brussel sprouts dish glazed with balsamic and topped with parmesan cheese.
The future location for the California Fish Grill at 5406 Sunrise Blvd. is just a few doors down from Sutter’s new walk-in clinic and Jimmy John’s sandwich shop. The roughly 3,000-square-foot location was formerly home to Moe’s Southwest Grill, which shuttered in late 2017 after being open for just over a year.
Capital Nursery Plaza first opened in 2016, with Smart & Final as its first tenant.
