‘Brews in the Burbs’ festival to take over Sunrise Mall parking lot this Saturday

Date:

By Rylie Friesen-
On June 8, the parking lot outside Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights will be converted into a first-ever beer festival, with organizers promising craft beer tasting, live music, food trucks, games and more.

The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with VIP ticket holders gaining access an hour early. Breweries from the Northern California area will include Red Bus Brewing, River City Brewing, Tilted Mash Brewing and Alaro Brewing, according to a news release from the Sunrise MarketPlace, which is sponsoring the event.

Organizers recommend attendees arrange for ride sharing to get to-and-from the event. A designated drop-off and pick-up location will be set up near the main entrance for those being dropped off by a friend or using Uber or Lyft.

Tickets include VIP access, general admission, and “Designated Driver” options. Early bird tickets are no longer available.

General admission prices are $35 if ordered in advance, or $45 the day of the event. The ticket includes entry at 5 p.m., a tasting cup and unlimited tastings.

VIP admission prices are $50 if ordered in advance, or $10 more on the day of the event. VIP attendees will be able to enter at 4 p.m. and also gain access to a VIP lounge with food samplings from several local restaurants, along with a larger glass for unlimited tastings.

Designated Driver tickets are $20 and include a $5 voucher for food, as well as unlimited soda and water. The tickets must be purchased in advance.

According to the Sunrise MarketPlace, event proceeds will be used to support the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights and also benefit local children and families.
