Citrus Heights student diagnosed with meningitis
CBS 13 reported Friday that a student at Cambridge Heights Elementary School in Citrus Heights was diagnosed with meningitis, prompting school officials to send parents an alert regarding the incident. The strain was determined to be viral meningitis, which is less severe than its bacterial variety. (See video)

Obituary: Citrus Heights screenwriter dies (1968-2019)
Steven Papineau, a Del Campo High School graduate and screenwriter from Citrus Heights, passed away on May 8 after a three-year battle with brain cancer. His films include Hellmen of Agency 9, which can be streamed on Amazon Prime. A celebration of life will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Roseville at 11 a.m. on June 14. (See full obituary)
