Sentinel staff report–
Those interested in helping families affected by California’s wildfires can do so by getting a car wash this Friday, Nov. 8, at the local 7 Flags Sunrise Express Car Wash in Citrus Heights.
The Vallejo-based 7 Flags company operates four locations in the Sacramento Valley area and has pledged to donate one dollar for every wash on Nov. 8 to the California Strong foundation. The foundation is known for its efforts to raise money and support for those affected by disasters in the Golden State.
This year’s largest fire in the state has been the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County, which burned over 77,000 acres and destroyed at least 174 homes. On Wednesday, Cal Fire said the blaze was finally 100 percent contained, after burning since Oct. 23.
According to a news release, California Strong’s support efforts “can include replacement of personal items, temporary housing, food and gas money.” Additionally, 7 Flags is pledging to match any donations up to $1,000.
7 Flags Sunrise Express Car Wash is located at 7711 Sunrise Blvd., near Antelope Road. Car wash prices range from a $5 basic wash to a premium wash for $20, which comes with a complimentary second wash if used within 14 days.
Hours of operation are currently 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
