Citrus Heights woman traveled to DC for Trump rally
The Sacramento Bee interviewed 48-year-old Citrus Heights native Yvonne Howerton after she traveled to Washington D.C. for the Jan. 6 rally in support of Donald Trump. The article described her being inspired by the portion of the event that remained peaceful, but said she was “repulsed by those who stormed the Capitol.” (See SacBee story)
Citrus Heights man finds difficulty getting refund for canceled Cher concert
A local resident contacted an area news station after not being able to get a refund for a Cher concert at the Golden 1 Center when the event was canceled, CBS 13 reported. The station said after a reporter contacted Ticketmaster, a refund was made. (See full story)
Obituary: Boyd Arthur Cole (1951-2021)
Citrus Heights resident Boyd Cole passed away on Jan. 2 from complications involving COVID-19, according to his obituary published in the Sacramento Bee. Cole’s career included serving with the former Citrus Heights Fire District and CalFire, as well as volunteering in baseball and soccer clubs in Citrus Heights. He is survived by his mother, along with children and grandchildren. A virtual memorial service will be held on Jan. 17th. (See full obituary)
