Single moms get Valentine’s Day dinner at drive-thru event in Citrus Heights
CBS 13 on Monday featured a story on Citrus Heights-based Single Mom Strong, which offered a drive-through gift and dinner pickup on Valentine’s Day for area single moms. Tara Taylor, who founded the nonprofit, said single moms have faced additional struggles during the pandemic, juggling work with kids at home. (See video)
Neighbors voice concern over sex offenders living nearby
Residents in the Woodmore Oaks Neighborhood Watch area are voicing concern about registered sex offenders living at a home on Drywood Way in nearby Orangevale. The home is located off Woodmore Oaks Drive, which passes through Citrus Heights and Orangevale. In an interview aired Thursday on CBS 13, a resident said she now doesn’t let her daughter in the front yard and said she doesn’t feel safe anymore. (See video)
Obituary: Robert Russell (1928-2021)
Citrus Heights resident and World War II veteran Robert (Bob) Russell passed away on Feb. 1, at age 92. Following his service in the Navy, Russell worked in the meat industry for 42 years and also drove a school bus for two decades, according to his obituary. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, three children, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. (See full obituary)
