Hello Citrus Heights! My name is Paul Reyes and I am a member of the American Legion here in Citrus Heights.

Last year I got the idea of doing a feed the homeless day on Christmas Eve. Well, it went so well that we I did it again this year on Saturday, Dec. 18th. However, this year was a little different. This year, we had donations from several groups that really helped us help others, and the biggest local contributor was Texas Roadhouse!
I met with a young lady by the name of Michelle who was “all in” and just needed to know how much and when the food was needed. I explained how last year we received a pulled pork slider and some mashed potatoes. This year we were looking at coleslaw instead. She said that would not be a problem. She would get with the interim managing partner and let me know.
A few days later she sent me a message that they were ready to donate the food. I sent her back a message asking what she meant, as we were prepared to pay the same as last year: $1.50 per meal. She said that would not be necessary as it would be a bun, a decent amount of pulled pork, along with a ladle full of coleslaw all donated by Texas Roadhouse! What a God-send that news became!!
We were able to purchase socks, toiletries, candy and even feminine hygiene products to pass out. And our friends at Stones Gambling Hall gave us 6 cases of water along with the CHPD donating an additional $200 dollars in gift cards!
We set a number of 100 to feed and help along, and we reached our goal! Had it not been for the selfless generosity of Texas Roadhouse and the others mentioned we probably could not have pulled it off.
This is the type of community help our local businesses give almost everyday, and we all here in Citrus Heights, should frequent them as much as possible to say thank you for being a great community partner.
God bless you Texas Roadhouse and all the others in helping make this years Feed the Homeless a huge success.
