Citrus Heights police on Saturday night responded to multiple incidents, including a report of two vehicles exchanging gunfire in the area of Canelo Hills Drive.
Sergent Kyle Schoberg told The Sentinel in a phone call that officers found multiple shell casings, but no victims. No damage to nearby buildings was evident, according to Schoberg, who said the incident is still under investigation.

Police also responded to a report of gunfire at Auburn Boulevard near Devecchi Avenue on Saturday evening, but Schoberg said the incident was fireworks. The report came in just as the playoff game between the San Francisco 49ers and Greenbay Packers ended, he said.
Also on Saturday evening, officers conducted a felony vehicle stop for a stolen vehicle, but it was not related to the prior vehicle shooting, Schoberg said. One suspect was taken into custody.
