Sentinel staff report–
Plans are no more for bringing a creative micro food hall to a Citrus Heights shopping center that would have allowed customers to mix-and-match dishes from a variety of restaurants all under one roof.
Last year, a new location for San Francisco-based Local Kitchens appeared in leasing material as a future tenant in the Sunrise Village shopping center on the northwest corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Madison Avenue. The eatery was slated to be located in a 2,030-square-foot suite next to Little Caesar’s.
However, The Sacramento Business Journal reported last month that Local Kitchen’s co-founder and CEO Jon Goldsmith said new locations initially planned in Citrus Heights and Folsom were no longer being considered. Goldsmith cited “repositioning” as a reason for the change in plans, but said the company expects to increase its store count in future years.
The company’s website lists 10 locations in California, including Roseville and Davis. The restaurant’s Roseville location allows diners to mix-and-match dishes from Nash and Proper, Sushirrito, Nopalito Taqueria, The Melt, and other eateries, according to its online menu.
