Clothing and apparel retailer Tilly’s is the latest pending closure at Sunrise Mall, with the location currently displaying “store closing” signs and a final date of Jan. 24, 2024.
A manager on duty earlier this month who did not want to be identified due to not being authorized to speak to the media told The Sentinel the company plans to transfer employees and merchandise to other locations.
The manager was not given a reason for the closure and said store is not planning a liquidation sale. A sign posted outside the store directs shoppers to shop online at Tillys.com, or visit the store’s Folsom location at 2761 East Bidwell Street.
Tilly’s joins other recent closures at the Mall, including the shuttering of Taco Bell, PretzelTime and Zumiez. The closures come amid the city’s ongoing effort to attract developers to transform the mall into a 21st Century Main Street, with hotels, mixed-use, restaurants and more.
