The Citrus Heights Police Department on Thursday announced the arrest of a suspect involved in the theft of over $200,000 worth of jewelry.
According to a Facebook post by the department on Thursday, the incident in the early hours of Feb. 5, 2024, where an unknown individual broke into a business located in the 6100 block of Sunrise Blvd., causing extensive damage to the property and making off with valuable jewelry. The name of the business was not disclosed by police.
Police said responding officers and Crime Scene Investigators were dispatched to the scene following the break-in. Through investigation and evidence analysis, authorities were able to identify 52-year-old Edward Rushing as the suspect.
Rushing was apprehended on Wednesday and has been charged with felony burglary, grand theft, and conspiracy.
