Sheri Merrick has been selected as the new executive director of the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce, following the chamber’s prior director stepping down in January.

Merrick was selected by a five-person ad hoc search committee, with input from current and former Chamber of Commerce board members.
In an interview with The Sentinel, Gabrielle Rasi, chairman of the board of the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce, said Merrick came to the chamber with “great experience” and is “extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and professional.”
“We are beyond excited to have her as our new executive director,” Rasi said, adding that she was a “unanimous pick.”
Rasi said the committee spent two months reviewing applications and conducting several rounds of interviews. Due to multiple applications being received, Rasi said the committee didn’t feel pressured to rush in selecting a new executive director.
Merrick most recently worked as Chief Operations Officer for the Folsom Chamber of Commerce. According to her LinkedIn profile, Merrick has attained 19 years of management experience in the field of dentistry where she assisted dental offices in marketing. Merrick has also begun her own consulting and community engagement company.
Merrick announced her new role as executive director on social media and said she is looking forward to sharing her “passion for business and community with Citrus Heights.” The chamber’s prior executive director was Diane Ebbitt-Riehle, who was praised last month by the city’s mayor for doing a “bang-up job” during her four years heading the chamber.
