A new bakery known for its freshly made donuts is expected to hold a grand opening this month.
Bad Bakers, a bakery known for its unique donut creations has set a grand opening date of May 9, according to posts on its social media accounts. Final approvals and inspections for opening were being completed last week, the owners reported in an email.
The new donut shop is also hiring, with a sign on the front entrance asking those interested to email their resume.
The bakery fills a 1,100-square-foot space adjacent to Starbucks, with signage added to the front facade of the building. Prior, a banner with the bakery’s name was visible in front of the shop for weeks.
The company has several donut shops throughout the region, including locations in Roseville, Natomas, Elk Grove, Folsom, and Sacramento, with plans for several more, including one coming soon in West Sacramento and in Woodland, according to the bakery’s website.
The bakery company is known for its freshly made and unique donuts, including specialty creations like “Unicorn Clouds”, a donut with plentiful sprinkles, “Mixed Berry”, a donut dipped in a mixed berry compote, a “Chocolate Cherry” donut, and “Eminem,” a donut half-dipped in chocolate, and half-covered with M&Ms.
Bad Bakers also offers Kronuts, raised donuts, mochi donuts, ube mochi donuts, and French Cruller donuts, as well as breads and bundle orders.
The building at 7056 Sunrise Blvd., which is currently home to a drive-thru Starbucks location, has acquired three new tenants in the last year, including Gateway Nails and Spa next to Bad Bakers, and a new Mongolian barbeque restaurant, which plans to open soon.
The shopping center anchored by FoodMaxx and Planet Fitness has seen multiple tenants come and go over the years. Along with the addition of Gateway Nails and Spa, United Martial Arts Academy filled a long-vacant building once home to Hollywood Video.
The new Bad Bakers is located at 7056 Sunrise Blvd.
