After rain delayed the resurfacing of several streets in the city, the City of Citrus Heights issued a notice to impacted neighborhoods informing residents of when and where resurfacing will resume. Several projects are expected to recommence Monday, April 27.
Resurfacing that was scheduled to take place on Tuesday was delayed due to a rainstorm that lasted through Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, the city issued a flyer indicating that resurfacing would resume next week, taking place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Monday and Tuesday. If weather causes another delay, a new notice will be sent by the city.
Streets scheduled to be resurfaced on Monday, April 27, include:
- Lichen Drive from Carmel Wood Drive to Outlook Drive
- Lichen Drive from Butternut Drive to Carmel Wood Drive
- Apache Way from Navion Drive to Skylane Drive
- Summerplace Drive from Carmel Wood Drive to Zenith Drive
- Donegal Drive from Longford Drive to 6546 Donegal Drive (gate entrance open, exit will be closed)
- Kaestner Court from Lichen Drive
- Canevalley Circle to Mountainside Drive to Mountainside Drive
Streets scheduled to be resurfaced on Tuesday, April 28, include:
- Bremen Drive from Longford Drive to Greenback Lane
- Lichen Drive from Brimstone Drive to Butternut Drive
- Janet Drive from Auburn Boulevard to Somersworth Drive
- Rollingwood Boulevard from Oakberry Way (east) to Auburn Boulevard.
- Donegal Drive from 6546 Donegal Drive (gate entrance will be closed, exit will be open) to Van Maren Lane
- Carlow Drive from Bremen Drive to Donegal Drive
- Piper Court from Convair Way
Roads will be closed to all through traffic. Sidewalks will remain open. Pedestrians must stay off resurfaced roadways. “No Parking” signs will be placed out in advance to notify vehicle owners. All vehicles should be removed from the street before 7 a.m. Vehicles in the work area will be towed at the owners’ expense.
Vehicles will also not be able to access driveways during the resurfacing period. Residents should plan accordingly and park vehicles on another street before 7 a.m.
Road resurfacing takes 4 hours to cure, and driving, walking, and biking on the surface can permanently stain vehicles, tires, and shoes.
The city also asks that residents refrain from watering the lawn on the day scheduled for resurfacing due to the potential for runoff, which can interfere with resurfacing.
