Citrus Heights Arts has announced the results of its recent community mural voting, confirming that option 2 out of four mural concept design choices, has been selected as the winning design.

The mural will be installed on an exterior wall of Citrus Heights City Hall and is intended to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States, as well as the city’s local history and origins.

In an official announcement, the organization thanked residents for participating in the voting process and helping shape the future public art installation.

Citrus Heights Arts described the project as a collaborative public art effort reflecting community input and creativity.

Organizers expressed appreciation for the engagement and enthusiasm shown by residents. A total of 276 votes were submitted, Citrus Heights Arts said. The number of votes for option 2 was not mentioned.

“A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made your voices heard,” the announcement said.

While Option 2 has been selected as the foundation for the mural, organizers noted that the project is not yet complete. The chosen artist will now move into the creation phase, using the winning design as a starting point while incorporating their own artistic style and interpretation.

“This will ensure the final mural is both inspired by the chosen design and uniquely brought to life by the artist,” Citrus Heights Arts said. The finished mural is expected to be unveiled to the community sometime near the end of June prior to the Stars and Stripes patriotic celebration, scheduled for June 27.
