A handful of upcoming roadwork projects are taking place this week on major corridors. Read on to find out where roadwork might impact your drive.
Nightwork on Sunrise Boulevard, June 15:
SMUD will be conducting night construction work on Sunrise Boulevard between Sayonara Drive and Arcadia Drive on Monday, June 15, the city said, as they replace a defective transformer. All lanes in all directions will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Antelope Road: Overnight work is underway on Antelope Road and Oak Avenue the city said, as crews begin the process to smooth out the roadway surface with the goal of improving ride quality and creating a more uniform foundation for the upcoming resurfacing work. Drivers may notice fresh temporary striping, the city said in a social media announcement.
Because Antelope Road is a high-traffic corridor, striping is reinstalled almost immediately after grinding to help keep all drivers safe.
The city also said profile grinding on Antelope Road will continue through Monday night, followed by the first layer of roadway resurfacing beginning Tuesday night.
Oak Avenue: Resurfacing of Oak Ave will begin Sunday night as part of a multi-layer resurfacing process in which each layer requires time to cure before the next is laid, helping to create a smoother, longer-lasting roadway, according to the city. Oak Avenue’s striping has been removed temporarily.
Ongoing street resurfacing: The city is actively resurfacing multiple streets throughout the city. Those living on neighborhood streets who may be directly impacted by resurfacing roadwork are sent paper flyers from the City of Citrus Heights detailing full and partial road closures.
