San Juan Unified School District is offering free summer meals for children 18 years of age and younger, providing breakfast and lunch at three designated school sites throughout the summer, including at one Citrus Heights elementary school.
The program is part of the district’s ongoing commitment to ensuring students and families have access to nutritious meals even when school is not in session. Meals are available at no cost, with no income requirements, enrollment, or paperwork needed. All meals must be eaten on site.

San Juan Unified’s Nutrition Services department participates in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs and supports California’s Universal Meals Program, which provides free meals to students during the regular school year.
The summer meals program extends that support into the summer months, helping ensure children continue to have access to healthy food options when school is out of session.
