An elderly male was found dead in a parking lot behind Sunrise Mall, police said Friday.
Citrus Heights Police responded to reports of an unresponsive individual in a car in a parking lot on the east side of Sunrise Mall late Thursday night. Upon arrival, police found an elderly male in a vehicle who was unresponsive.
Emergency personnel confirmed the man was deceased. A cause of death has not been determined at this time.
“As of right now, our detectives are actively investigating,” Citrus Heights Police Sgt. Felicia Taylor said Friday.
There is no harm to the public at this time, authorities say. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
