LA Times features story on Citrus Heights police chief’s new job
The LA Times on Thursday published a story on Police Chief Ron Lawrence announcing plans to transition to serve as top cop in the City of Costa Mesa. Lawrence will be sworn in Sept. 7, leaving the position he held for five years in Citrus Heights. A replacement search is currently underway in Citrus Heights. (See LA Times story)

Citrus Heights City Council meeting cancelled
The City of Citrus Heights will not hold a council meeting this Thursday, according to a notice posted on the city’s website. The council’s next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 9, at City Hall.

Obituary: John Timblin III (1944-2021)
A celebration of life was held last weekend for Citrus Heights resident John Timblin III, who passed away on June 15. He is survived by his lifetime companion Della Lewis, along with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Ben Ali Shrine and the Keystone Cops, which were a regular presence in the city’s former Red, White & Blue parades. (See full obituary)
