Sentinel staff report–
The Senior Center inside the Citrus Heights Community Center opened this week as a cooling center for those seeking to escape a heat wave currently hitting the region.
In a post on social media, the city said the cooling center opened Tuesday at 6300 Fountain Square Drive and will continue through Friday. The centers hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., June 21-24.
Prior heat waves have also prompted the city to open a cooling center.
