The Citrus Heights City Council is expected on Wednesday to issue several proclamations, receive annual reports from multiple city departments, review major infrastructure and funding items, and consider adopting a policy addressing public meeting telephonic or internet service disruptions. The City Council will meet Wednesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. at Citrus Heights City Hall.
Presentations: The City Council plans to issue several proclamations recognizing volunteer service, library programs, emergency communications personnel, and animal care professionals during Wednesday’s meeting. These include proclaiming April 19–25, 2026 as National Volunteer Week, April 19–25, 2026 as National Library Week, April 12–18, 2026 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and April 12–18, 2026 as National Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week.
Police Department annual report: The Citrus Heights Police Department is expected to give their annual report for the City Council to review.
Sunrise MarketPlace annual report: The Sunrise MarketPlace Property Business Improvement District is expected to give an annual report for the City Council to review and approve.
Capital Improvement updates: The General Services Department is also expected to give an update on capital improvement projects throughout the city.
Consent Calendar: As part of the consent calendar, the City Council is slated to consider approval of several items related to long-term planning, road repairs, grant funding, and financial oversight. These include approval of annual strategic planning objectives; awarding a construction contract for the Primrose Drive and Various Repairs Project; authorizing applications for grant funding through the Sacramento Area Council of Governments 2026 federal funding programs; approving a professional engineering services agreement for the Sunrise Tomorrow Frontage Improvement Project at Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane; accepting the city’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, Single Audit Report, and audited transportation compliance statements; and approving updates to the city’s investment policy.
Items in the consent calendar are voted on as a block unless a councilmember pulls a specific item to vote on separately.
New meeting policy: The City Council is also expected to hear and consider adopting policy procedures for handling telephonic or internet service disruptions during public meetings in order to comply with new Brown Act amendment SB707, which was signed into law in October 2025.
One provision of SB 707 requires eligible legislative bodies to adopt, on or before July 1, 2026, a policy addressing how the agency will respond to disruptions in telephonic or internet service that prevent members of the public from attending or observing a meeting remotely.
Those wishing to make a public comment during the meeting can do so by attending the council meeting on April 8, 2026, at City Hall, or by submitting a written comment beforehand using the city’s website. The deadline to submit comments online is 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting. See full agenda packet online: Click here:
