After months of construction and preparation, a new Mongolian barbeque restaurant in the Copperwood Square shopping center is now open in Citrus Heights.

A visit over the weekend found O Tasty Mongolian Barbeque open for business. The restaurant occupies a 3,200-square-foot space, with BAD Bakers also filling a smaller 1,100-square-foot space adjacent to the existing Starbucks.

The Mongolian barbeque restaurant offers an “all-you-can-build Mongolian BBQ experience”, including Mongolian barbeque bowls, beef and vegetables bowls, pork chicken noodles, and customizable noodle bowls with fresh meats, vegetables, and signature house sauces cooked fresh on the grill, the restaurant’s website states. Online order is also available from their website. Sides like pork potstickers, spring rolls and fried rice are also available.

The operator previously ran a Mongolian barbeque restaurant at Westfield Galleria in Roseville, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. The previous restaurant closed at Westfield Galleria in the spring of 2024, per Sacramento Bee reporting.

A bakery specializing in bread and donuts also recently opened in the beginning of May two suites down, and a nail salon adjacent to the new restaurant also opened in January.

The strip building at 7056 Sunrise Blvd. is currently home to a drive-thru Starbucks location,

The shopping center anchored by FoodMaxx and Planet Fitness has seen multiple tenants come and go over the years. Along with the addition of Gateway Nails and Spa and BAD Bakers, United Martial Arts Academy filled a long-vacant building once home to Hollywood Video.

The new restaurant is located at 7056 Sunrise Blvd. suite D, and operates from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
