October brings a variety of fall festivals, community gatherings, fundraisers, family activities and Halloween events to Citrus Heights. From the annual Police Activities League golf tournament and fall yard sales to a floating pumpkin patch, community meetings and several Halloween celebrations, there are plenty of activities planned throughout the month.
Citrus Heights PAL Golf Tournament: The Citrus Heights Police Activities League will host its third annual golf tournament Thursday, Oct. 1, at Whitney Oaks Golf Club. Registration is available online. For more information, visit the event page here.
Veterans Community Center Fall Yard Sale: The Veterans Community Center will hold its fall yard sale Friday, Oct. 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will continue Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Veterans Community Center. Games, Grill & Giving: Single Mom Strong will host Games, Grill & Giving Saturday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available online. For more information, and to register and purchase tickets, visit the event page here.
Floating Pumpkin Patch: Sunrise Recreation and Park District is hosting an annual Floating Pumpkin Patch at Rusch Park’s pool on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is open for the event online. For more information, visit the park district’s events page here.
“Bubbleween:” Citrus Town Center will host a kid-friendly “Bubbleween” party on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. The free, family-friendly Halloween celebration will feature giant bubbles, balloon twisting, a DJ dance party, Candy Lane and other spooky surprises. Costumes are encouraged. Candidates meet and greet and forum: Candidates for Citrus Heights City Council District 2 and San Juan Water District will participate in a candidates meet-and-greet and forum Tuesday, Oct. 13, hosted by Citrus Heights Neighborhood Areas Seven Eight Nine, the event will coincide with the monthly CHASEN meeting at Foundation Christian Church. The forum is open to all and will begin at 7 p.m. Foundation Christian Church is located at 7800 Wonder St.
Supervisor Community Meeting: Sacramento County Supervisor Rosario Rodriguez will hold a community meeting Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Citrus Heights City Hall. Visit the city’s events calendar for more information. City Hall is located at 6360 Fountain Square Drive.
Movie Night & Harvest Festival: Sunrise MarketPlace will host a Movie Night and Harvest Festival Friday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Sunrise Mall near the former Sears building, located at the corner of Sunrise Blvd. and Macy Plaza Drive. The event is free and will feature vendors, food trucks, kids activities such as face painting, pumpkin decorating, and a dog costume contest. The movie Hotel Transylvania will be shown at dusk.

Fall Chip-In Day: Citrus Heights residents will have an opportunity to volunteer during the city’s Fall Chip-In Day Saturday, Oct. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Citrus Heights City Hall. The fall volunteer event is part of the city’s ongoing community service efforts. Volunteers will help beautify the surrounding areas near City Hall. For more information, see the city’s calendar. Howl-O-Ween Parade: The Citrus Heights Community Marching Band will host its annual Howl-O-Ween Parade and Car Show Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rusch Park. The parade will begin at 9 a.m., at the corner of Grand Oaks Blvd. and Rosswood, and travel down Grand Oaks Blvd., turn on Oak Forest, and end at Rusch Park.

Adult Paint & Sip Night: An Adult Paint & Sip Night will be held Friday, Oct. 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Sunrise Patio Room at Rusch Park’s community center. Mystery Masquerade Ball: Family Learning Lab & Co-School will host a Mystery Masquerade Ball Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The family-oriented event will include costumes, dancing, games, a mystery escape room, a dessert bar, prizes and other activities. Tickets are $24 per person.
