Citrus Heights nonprofit Single Mom Strong is offering a way for residents to pick up ready-made family dinners while at the same time, helping support local single mothers and their families.
In a newsletter, the nonprofit announced it is selling chicken pot pies, which will be ready for pickup Nov. 7, with proceeds supporting its mission of empowering single mothers. Pies cost $25 each and can be purchased online.
Orders must be placed by Nov. 2, 2026.
Customers can pick up their pot pies from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 7 by driving through the parking lot of the Single Mom Strong Empowerment Center, located in Citrus Heights near Interstate 80 and Antelope Road.
Each 9-inch pot pie serves three to four people and is designed to be a quick, convenient meal that can be heated and served. Customers can enjoy one for dinner, share with neighbors, or freeze for later use, organizers say.
Single Mom Strong is also encouraging customers to purchase an extra pot pie, helping provide dinner for a single mother’s family. The first 25 customers who order five or more pot pies will receive delivery that afternoon, within 20 miles of the Empowerment Center.

Single Mom Strong’s mission is to “empower single mothers and their children through enrichment, encouragement and educational programs.” Proceeds of the fundraiser will be used to support SMS Career Advancement programs for single moms and the nonprofit’s award-winning EmpowerME Preschool & Childcare programs for children.
