Citrus Heights officers help rescue dog on I-80
Officers returning from a trip to the county jail assisted in rescuing a dog that was running loose on Interstate 80 and slowing traffic down, the Citrus Heights Police Department said Thursday in a social media post. FTC sends warning letter to tanning shop in Citrus Heights
The Federal Trade Commission said in a news release Thursday that “I B Tan” in Citrus Heights was sent a warning letter along with 19 other letters to businesses around the nation who made “unsupported prevention or treatment claims” regarding COVID-19. The FTC said the local tanning shop had claimed on Facebook that its indoor tanning and red light therapy services “help fight off viruses including COVID-19.” (See FTC release)
Citrus Heights Chamber urges county to allow reopening by zip code
The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce is continuing to advocate for the state and county to allow reopening of businesses using zip code COVID-19 data, rather than county-level data. The chamber is accepting online signatures at a petition posted on a new website: opencitrusheights.com.
Citrus Heights COVID-19 deaths now at 20, with 1,223 cases
The Sacramento County Public Health online dashboard now shows 20 deaths associated with COVID-19 in Citrus Heights as of Friday, along with 1,223 cases. Additional city-specific data is not provided by the county, other than zip code case counts which show 558 cases in 95621 and 585 cases in 95610. Some zip codes in the county report more than 1,000 cases, while some rural areas have less than 100 cases. (See county data)
