Letter by Craig Hoppe, Citrus Heights– I am homeless in Citrus Heights and something has to be done to stop us from canning and going into trash. But for most of us, that means no food or money.

So the city wants to discourage drivers from using Old Auburn Road as a thoroughfare? All roads leading from Interstate 80 to Sunrise or Hazel are used the same way.

I live in the neighborhood and love the change to single turn lanes each way at the intersection of Old Auburn and Fair Oaks Boulevard. All the added safety steps are working nicely.

Although I applaud the fine work of our Police Department and all of our officers, I have more and more concerns about the homeless situation in Citrus Heights.

I understand that a half-cent isn’t substantial, but we have been half-a-cent taxed enough. With wages not reflecting the cost of living, you want more out of our pockets.

The timing of the traffic lights should have been done years ago.
