Events in April around Citrus Heights include theatrical productions, a car show, volunteer and charity opportunities, and a book sale at the local library.
Family friendly theatrical productions:
Royal Stage performing and visual arts is hosting two family friendly productions in April. Anastasia, the Broadway Musical runs April 4-7, with two shows on Saturday and Sunday. The Aristocats Kids begins Thursday April 18, and runs through Sunday, April 21 with two shows on Saturday and Sunday. For ticket information, visit royalstage.org. Volunteer Opportunities
River City Waterway Alliance is hosting an Arcade Creek clean up on Friday, April 5 beginning at 9 a.m. Volunteers are being asked to meet at the southernmost parking lot in the Hidden Oaks apartment complex at 5979 Devecchi Ave. in Citrus Heights. The cleanup is labeled “moderate to hard” and may not be appropriate for children under 16. For safety instructions and information on what to bring along, visit the event page here.
Car Show
The Cappuccino Cruisers are hosting their 12th annual Cruisin’ for Shriner’s car show which benefits Shriner’s Hospital for Children. The event takes place April 20 at Texas Roadhouse from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and will feature music, raffles, vendors and food. Texas Roadhouse is located at 6309 Sunrise Blvd. in Citrus Heights. Sylvan Oaks Library Book sale
Sylvan Oaks Library is hosting a paperback book sale on Saturday, April 6 in the Sylvan Oaks Library community room. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Sylvan Oaks Library and Sylvan Oaks Library programs and materials. For more information, visit the library’s community calendar here. Funtopia
The Sunrise Marketplace is hosting a “Bubbles, Skate and Bopping Fun” event on Saturday, April 13, at the Citrus Town Center as part of their “Funtopia” family friendly event series. The event will feature bubbles, a dance party, giveaways, shaved ice, and a magic show. Activities run from 10-11:30 a.m. The Citrus Town Center is located at 7925 Greenback Lane. (See link)
Awards Ceremony
The San Juan Unified School District is hosting an annual You Light the Way awards ceremony at San Juan High School on Wednesday evening, April 10. The event recognizes “outstanding contributions to special education.” The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. and will honor multiple local educators, including a Mesa Verde High School teacher and multiple teachers from Carriage Drive elementary.
