July 2025: What’s going on in Citrus Heights this month?

What better way to beat the heat than enjoying free movies, ice cream with neighbors, swimming, live music, and summer camps for the kids.

City Scoop: The city is hosting three monthly ice cream socials throughout the summer. The next ice cream social in the City Scoop series will take place on Wednesday, July 16, at Van Maren Park. For more information, visit the city’s website. Van Maren Park is located at 6610 Thalia Way.

Summer Camp: Royal Stage is hosting a summer day camp in Citrus Heights from July 14-18 with a “Mission Space: Intergalactic Arts Quest” theme. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and takes place at the Royal Stage theater inside Sunrise Mall, located behind the former Macy’s Men’s building. Summer Splash: The Citrus Heights Police Activities League is hosting a swimming event at Rusch Park’s pool on Friday, July 18, for PAL members. The event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and includes food. Membership is free, and attendees can register here prior to attending the free swim night. Rusch Park is located at 7501 Auburn Blvd. For more information, visit the event page.

Live Music: Stones Gambling Hall is hosting a concert by Adam and the Aces on Saturday, July 19, at 8:30 p.m. For more information and to RSVP, visit the event page. Stones Gambling Hall is located at 6510 Antelope Rd.

Free lunch and movies: Sylvan Oaks Library is providing free lunch to all students under 18 from June through August. Meals will be distributed from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. No registration is required, and drop-ins are welcome. For more information, visit their website here.

The library is slated to air “Night of the Hunter” as part of its classic movie series on Friday, July 11, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., as well as “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” as part of a sensory-friendly family movie event on Saturday, July 26, at 11 a.m.

Families can also enjoy art at the library during the library’s Family Art Lab on Saturday, July 12, from 3-4:30 p.m. Materials are provided, and attendees should dress appropriately for making art.
