The City of Citrus Heights recently announced the first-ever ‘Citrus Nights’, a free community event that will include a concert in the park.
The event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Van Maren Park in Citrus Heights, located at 6601 Thalia Way.
Organizers say the free evening gathering is designed to bring residents together for live entertainment, food, and activities in a family-friendly setting.
Headlining the evening is Apple Z, a popular Northern California cover band known for energetic shows. The group will perform from 7 to 9 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back lawn chairs to enjoy the music comfortably, the city’s website says.
Food vendors will include Cowtown Creamery, Dubbs Lunch Boxx, San Tacos, Kiki’s Food Truck, and Crumbl Cookies. For those 21 and older, the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce will operate a beer and wine garden with yard games inside and outside the designated area for all ages to enjoy.
Admission is free. Small coolers up to 15 quarts are welcome, but outside alcohol is not permitted. Guests may also bring personal umbrellas, but canopies, grills, and open flames are not allowed. Dogs are allowed if leashed, though officials caution that large crowds and live music may not be suitable for all pets.
Free parking is available at City Hall, located off Fountain Square Drive, with some ADA parking on-site. Additional parking will be offered at the Citrus Heights Police Department and Dignity Health lots, also located off Fountain Square Drive. Officials ask that residents arrive no earlier than 5 p.m.
