The Kiwanis Club of Citrus Heights and Soroptimist International of Citrus Heights will host their 40th Annual Crab Feed on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Citrus Heights Event Center.
This year’s fundraiser will feature a Mardi Gras theme and promises an evening of food, friends, and fun. The event begins at 6p.m., with dinner beginning at 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Citrus Heights Event Center, located at 6300 Fountain Square Drive.
In addition to all-you-can-eat crab, attendees can enjoy pasta, salad, and bread, along with a no-host bar. The evening will also include raffles, a silent auction, and a wine auction.
Tickets are $80 per person, or $750 for a table of 10. Tickets can be purchased online. Attendees purchasing tickets are encouraged to select “Soroptimist” at checkout so proceeds directly support programs benefiting local women and girls.
Proceeds from the annual crab feed support a wide range of community organizations and programs, including high school scholarships, local Key Clubs, the Mesa Verde Community Garden, Sunrise Recreation and Park District, Habitat for Humanity, the Kiwanis Family House, Shriner’s Hospital, Citrus Heights Police Activities League, Citrus Heights HART, the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band, and the Salvation Army, among others.
Chartered in 1972, the Kiwanis of Citrus Heights is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children and families in the community, their website says. The Kiwanis club regularly hosts an annual easter egg hunt at Rusch Park annually, and contributes to multiple other community service projects and events in the city.
Soroptimist International of Citrus Heights is part of a global volunteer organization focused on improving the lives of women and girls through education and empowerment.
