Planning is underway for the 2026 Big Day of Service, beginning with a community interest meeting scheduled for Jan. 29.
Big Day of Service is an annual volunteer event that brings together residents from Fair Oaks, Orangevale, and Citrus Heights to complete community service projects.
Organizers are inviting community members to get involved early by attending an upcoming Big Day of Service interest meeting on Thursday, Jan. 29 at Sunrise Community Church in Fair Oaks.
The meeting will provide an overview of how the event operates and highlight opportunities for residents to serve as project leaders, support media and outreach efforts, or assist behind the scenes.
The scheduled for one hour, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, explore volunteer leadership roles, and connect with others.
Organizers say early involvement is key to building strong partnerships and ensuring a successful Big Day of Service, which is scheduled for May 16, 2026.
Sunrise Community Church is located at 8321 Greenback Ln. in Fair Oaks.
Residents interested in participating can RSVP through the event’s website.
