A charity run walk aimed at supporting housing and neighborhood improvement efforts is set to take place next month in Citrus Heights. The deadline to register is April 22.

The second annual “Dash for Dwellings”, an “Almost 5K” charity run and walk event hosted by the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights, is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, at Tempo Park.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento and the Sayonara Drive Community, according to a flyer from the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights. Gates will open at 6 a.m.  Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

Tickets for the charity run walk cost $39 per participant. Vendors are also welcome, and vendor booth fees will cost $55 for a 10 by 10 space.

Organizers describe the run and walk as a family-friendly event designed to bring the community together while raising funds for a meaningful cause. So far, confirmed vendors include the Citrus Heights Police Department, Sacramento Metro Fire District, and an ice cream vendor, among others.

This event will have accessibility for strollers and wheelchairs and participants of all ages and abilities, including pets, are welcome, the Rotary Club says.

In addition to the race, the Rotary Club is seeking businesses and community member sponsorships. Sponsorship tiers range from $500 to $2,500, with top sponsors receiving recognition such as logos on event T-shirts.

Those interested in participating need to register by April 22. To find out more information and register for the event, visit the event page here.
