June Events: What’s happening in Citrus Heights this month?

Events around Citrus Heights in June include multiple summer camps, an ice cream social, and the annual Stars and Stripes patriotic celebration.

Elections Day: Polling places throughout Sacramento County will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 2 for Election Day voting. Residents can also vote at vote centers and ballot drop boxes throughout the county. Find out where to vote here.

Community meeting: City staff will host a community meeting June 4 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Sylvan Community Center to discuss the Arcade Cripple Creek Trailhead extension project from Sylvan Road to the Stock Ranch Nature Preserve. Housing dedications: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento plans to hold a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony June 6 for Phase I of the Sayonara Drive affordable housing project in Citrus Heights. The ceremony will take place from 9 -11 a.m. and organizers encourage attendees to RSVP. Find out more here.

PAL summer splash party: The Citrus Heights Police Activities League will host a free summer swim party June 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. for local youth and families. Find out more on the event page here. 

CANCELLED Art Beat Festival: Citrus Heights Arts has announced that its annual Art Beat festival scheduled for later in June has been cancelled for a second time. The festival, originally scheduled to be held in October, was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Lunch at the Library: Sylvan Oaks Library will again host its free Lunch at the Library program throughout the summer, providing free lunches for students up to age 18. Registration is not required. Lunch is served between 12-1 p.m. and must be eaten inside the community room. Visit the library’s info page for more information.

Fire Camp: Sacramento Metro Fire District will be hosting a fire camp for kids ages 11 to 13 from June 16 through June 19. Fire camp s a four-day Camp that teaches middle school-age kids what it’s like to be a firefighter for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Fire camp will be held at Fire Station 21, at 7641 Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights. To register and find out more, visits the district’s website.

Sports camp: i9 Sports will host a coed full-day multi-sport camp during the week of June 19 at Mesa Verde High School, located at 7501 Carriage Drive. The camp focuses on athletic fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. Registration costs $253, with discounts available for multiple registrations. Bowl & Swim Camp: Sunrise Recreation and Park District in partnership with Fireside Lanes offers students an annual sports and swim camp featuring bowling and swimming daily from June 15-19 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Campers will divide their time between bowling instruction and recreational swimming. Gymnastics camps: Byers Gymnastics Center will host its “Sun, Splash and Flip!” summer camps June 22-27 at its Citrus Heights location. Camps include gymnastics instruction, games and water activities, with programs available for children ages 4-13. Find out more information on the gym’s website.

Pirates vs. Princesses Camp: Royal Stage hosts several camps including one in Citrus Heights. The Pirates vs. Princess camp is for kids from first through sixth grade and takes place from June 22-Jun 29 at the Royal Stage Theater located at 6174 Sunrise Blvd. The camp will feature dancing, theater, arts and crafts and interactive games. Family Learning Lab summer camps: Family Learning Lab, located at 6916 Sunrise Blvd., Suite I, will host themed indoor summer camps throughout June for children ages 4-12. Activities include crafts, sensory play, LEGO building and themed exploration weeks. Sessions begin at $10. Find out more on the childcare center’s website.

Ice cream social: The city’s first City Scoop ice cream social of the summer will take place June 17 at Tempo Park. The city plans to host two monthly ice cream socials throughout the 2026 summer season. Tempo Park is located at 13125 Fair Oaks Blvd. Visit the city’s calendar for more information.

Game night: Galaxy Game Café will host “Dads and Drafts: Game Night with Dad” on June 20 from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring board games and family activities. To register or find out more information, visit the event page. Galaxy Game Cafe is located at 7700 Sunrise Blvd.

Stars and Stripes celebration: The annual Stars and Stripes patriotic celebration will take place June 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Van Maren Park.
